Overview

"Dibuja y Vive" is a 40-page drawing workbook that bridges relaxation techniques inspired in hypnotherapy with intuitive art to help users release mental blocks and manifest well-being. The challenge was translating complex therapy sessions into a simple "coloring book" aesthetic. This structured process guides users from self-connection to personal transformation, a mission that proved its resonance when the prototype completely sold out at its Puerto Rico Comic Con debut.

The Call

The vision was to create a transformative tool for well-being that serves as a bridge between my professional experience as a hypnotherapist and the power of intuitive art. Inspired by the journeys of 100 individuals I guided through hypnosis and drawing workshops between 2024 and 2025, this project seeks to provide a space where users can release mental blocks, manifest their goals, and transform negative habits without needing any prior artistic skill. By blending hypnotherapeutic principles with creative expression, the notebook empowers people to look within, dare to feel, and use drawing as a practical guide for emotional healing and personal growth.

The Process

The process was deeply rooted in my professional practice as a hypnotherapist and the spontaneous insights captured in my own sketchbook. While conducting sessions and guiding workshops, I documented the thoughts, concerns, and specific subjects my clients aimed to address through a method I call "hypno-drawing". To bring this vision to life, I intentionally selected a vibrant pink for the cover—a color that feels both "girly" and extremely potent. I wanted to choose a shade so bright it felt slightly uncomfortable and impactful, ensuring the notebook serves as a bold guide for emotional well-being.I decided to use bold black outlines for all the illustrations to create a "coloring book" aesthetic that invites the user into the art. It was vital that the design remained simple and unpretentious to remove the intimidation factor for those who are not professional artists. By presenting clean, open line work, the notebook reinforces the idea that you do not need to know how to draw; you only need to dare to feel and use the space to release mental blocks or manifest your goals. This approach transforms the act of drawing into an accessible tool for anyone seeking to cultivate a healthier emotional landscape.

The Outcome

The structural journey of the notebook consists of 40 pages divided into four chapters, mirroring the methodology I use in initial hypnotherapy sessions where drawing serves as a core part of the intake interview. This process is designed to help the individual connect deeply with themselves first, then explore their origins and family roots, before finally applying specific techniques for personal transformation. By translating these clinical "hypno-drawing" sessions into a structured format, the notebook acts as a guided therapeutic experience that feels both personal and professional.Although the physical book is currently a prototype, it underwent a high-stakes market test at Puerto Rico’s Comic Con. Despite being displayed in a jewelry booth—an unconventional spot for a therapeutic tool—the interest was overwhelming and every copy sold out. This successful experiment proved that there is a profound hunger for accessible, creative mental health tools. It has paved the way for the next phase of this project, confirming that people are ready to embrace drawing as a potent, non-intimidating path to self-discovery.
